The First Week
It has been a very busy first week. Cathy and Kayla came home from the hospital on Friday. Things went well, and Grandma (my Mom) and Aunt Kristi came down to visit. They both took lots of pictures and movies, hopefully we will be able to share them with everyone soon. Sunday morning Cathy woke up with a fever so we called the OB and back to the hospital ER it was. We got there at 8:30 am and there was only one other person there. It was in the 90's all weekend and around 9:00 am alot of older people started coming in and were in worse condition than Cathy was so they were taken back first. Finally at 9:50 it was our turn. They drew blood to test for infection and told her they would be admitting her again and giving her antibiotics via IV. So Cathy was back in the hospital for a couple days. Luckily Mom was able to stay a couple extra days so I could spend time with Cathy in the hospital. Monday morning was Kayla's appointment with the pediatrician. She is back up the 7 lbs 9 oz after dropping to 7 lbs 1 oz before we left the hospital. The peditrician says Kayla is doing great, and is a healthy eater! Monday night Cathy was released from the hospital and will remain on oral antibiotics for a couple weeks. She has been home since then and is doing alot better. Kayla loves to be held and never stops moving. She is already picking her head up, rolling side to side, and reacting to voices. In her crib she sleep on an incline pad that has sides to keep her from rolling from her back onto her stomach. She squirms her way totally off the pad and perpendicular to how we laid her down. Now I believe Cathy when she said she never stopped moving in the womb. We have pics and some fun diapering stories I will share when I get a chance.
