We are on vaction in Pigeon Forge TN! We have rented a cabin in the mountains that is beautiful and has a pool that is shared with only one other cabin. We arrived Saturday afternoon and headed right to the pool. We had been at the pool an hour or so, and Zoe and I went to check out the outdoor fireplace and eating area on the roof of the pool house. While we were checking things out our first visitor arrived!
Either that wasn't a swim diaper or Kayla is really scared of bears!
I actually mixed up the swim diapers and the extra absorbant night time diapers. I guess we can see they really are extra absorbant. We had to refill the pool!
I wondered if we would see any bears but I wasn't ready for one quite yet. I hurried back to the pool house and we waited until he moved on. In the picture, the railing he is next to is the access to the pool house roof deck, and the stairs in the background is our cabin. We made it back to the cabin and drove down to the pool to get the kids. For dinner I was elected to cook the steaks on the grill. Not sure what I did wrong but Lois sent me out with the bears with some raw steak. While I was cooking the steaks I looked over the side of the deck to see our second visitor comming up the hill.
She also brought her two cubs!
The cubs were super cute climbing up the tree and playing
We brought the steaks inside and finished them in the oven and the bears moved on. They were not the last visitors for the night. Before we went to bed we were greeted by our final visitors peeking in the side door.
Day two started by a visit from three bear cubs playing on the deck. It was early and Cathy and I were the only ones awake to see them, but we didn't have a camera ready. The three cubs went back down to the cabin below us where mom was with her two other cubs! We now have a warning sign that there is a momma bear with five cubs that frequents our cabin. If the bears and the raccons weren't enough wildlife we went to the petting zoo and the aquarium to see even more. They were both alot of fun! The petting zoo had goats, kangaroo, deer, zebra, camel, horse, zonkey (zebra donkey mix), elk, and reindeer. The aquarium was awesome, but cut short when Kayla had an explosive diaper and covered herself along with Cathy and I.

Day three was DOLLYWOOD! We are in Pigeon Forge so Dollywood is a given. We arrived early and took Kayla on a couple rides. Her first ride was the ducks and Cathy went with her. Then we tried the bees, and it was my turn. I still don't know how I got in that bee, and I know the seatbelt will never be the same. Kayla had fun on the ducks, but was screaming before the bees started. Once the ride started she was fine and enjoyed the ride. We also went on the carousel, but she refused to get on a horse so we sat on the bench and Mom, Grandma, and Grandpa rode horses.

This is a picture of our cabin in the mountains. Does this count as camping? Cathy says if you have to worry about bears you are camping, I'm not so sure...

Holy Shit. That is quite the cabin. Good Lord.
I'd love to see a bear that close. I'd probably poop my pants a little, but I'd love it. And those raccoons...am I the only one that thinks thats pretty dang cute?
Wow, I think y'all encountered more wildlife in one vacation than someone on a safari (okay, maybe that's an exaggeration). ;) But, still!
BTW, I think I could actually get Drew to 'go camping' with me if we stayed in that cabin! :) The tents he can do without, but I'd bet he'd be willing to 'rough it' in that place! Awesome.
