How did I forget to buy snacks?
I'm comfortable that I know how to get to the hospital and have gone over, and over, and over how to get to the labor and delivery once we are at the hospital. So on to the next task, packing our bags for the hospital. First the baby, the only thing we need are a couple outfits and whatever we need to get her home. I think that was easy. Second Cathy's bags, clothes and toiletries. I was pretty sure what she was going to pack, and I was right. Her t-shirts I swear she has had since grade school and her warmup pants. So I asked her if we were going to have a baby or paint the hospital since every item she had packed had paint stains. So we compromised and she is taking a new reds t-shirt and warmup pants with only a couple small paint stains. Finally my bag, clothes and toiletries check...that was easy. Now for the hard part comfortable shoes I'm the "coach" I could be on my feet for hours. My new pair of shoes have to be the most uncomfortable shoes on earth, NO WAY. My most comfortable and favorite shoes have seen better days. The shoe is in decent condition, but the soles are peeling off and make noise when I walk. Cathy hates when I wear them, but if I can get out of the house with them on it's to late to make me change. There are some things I cannot do when wearing the shoes. For instance, wall sits, Matt didn't like it but I'm ok with not doing wall sits. I also trip over the soles when they fold under, but they are so comfortable I'm ok with looking like I can't walk. However,I don't need a trip hazard in the delivery room, I'm looking to decrease my chances of going to the ground so I needed to fix the soles. Got it, duct tape! We live in Kentucky...ok I would never duct tape my shoes, so super glue it is. My favorite shoes are like new again!!! My bags is all packed and I'm ready to go! Wait! I forgot the snacks! How did I forget the snacks? Cathy can only eat ice chips, but I need snacks and drinks. All day long all I could think about was what snacks I NEEDED from the store when we went tonight. Maybe some beef jerky, some trail mix, crackers, candy, what ever I see and could be in the mood for. What did I buy NOTHING. Sumo outfit and no snacks that would just not be right. I have to get snacks because they couldn't find time in our 1hr 15 min tour to show us where the cafeteria was. Emails throughout the day tomorrow to remind me to pick up snacks would be greatly appreciated! I'm just glad I'm going through this whole process so well, nothing to worry about here!
