Well it has been quite the process getting the nursery ready. It only took one trip to Babies r us to pick out the crib bedding set, but a few other projects were not as easy. We spent a few weekends and evenings browsing baby furniture stores, and finally found a set we liked. It had to be ordered and took 10-12 weeks. Unfortunately, 15 weeks later we had a room that had been painted for 14 weeks and still no furniture. Finally some good news at week 15, it left Louisville on that Tuesday! We were concerned that it had not arrived by the end of the week, but no one at the store seemed to care. Louisville is only 2 hours away for most people, but for our delivery driver it was a 7 day trip. We still haven't figured that one out, but I was sure we were going to see a couple guys walking next to the interstate carrying our furniture. We have now received the furniture and have the nursery ready for the baby! Since we had lots of time waiting for the furniture we spent our time on little projects. We made the lamps, garbage can, and wall hangings (mom did the wall hangings!). I decided I was going to make a shelf with the babies name on it. Cathy also liked the name I had picked and we were 90% sure we were going with Kayla. I told her I was making the shelf with Kayla on it and she didn't disagree so in my book that was an agreement that Kayla will be the baby's name! Cathy's due date is June 2, and if Kayla has not arrived by then she is scheduled to be induced on June 3! Hopefully we have everything we need! We have more clothes and shoes for the first 9 months than one baby needs. I have been hooked on baby stuff from craigslist and eBay. The shoes are my biggest "overboard" purchase. I bought them in two different auctions and even though it is excessive they are so cute and I would do it again. It takes alot of baby clothes and shoes to fill a walk in closet. Hopefully we are done with projects and purchases of nonessential items for a few weeks! Ryan is going to put me to work finding stuff for their baby so that should keep me busy. Wait until the accountant sees the fees I charge!
